BIEN-ETRE How to be happy?

1min reading time

Scientists study and analyze what makes humans happy and unhappy. We know that happiness can predict health and can increase individuals' life expectancy. The level of happiness within a society can also be a good indicator of social progress and the success of public policies. Everyone has the power to make small changes in their daily life, their environment, their relationships to live a happier and more fulfilling life.

Step 1: Clear negative thoughts

Every individual tends to view a situation as a glass half empty rather than half full. Adaptation through the experience that humans gain over the years makes them learn from their traumas (betrayals, mockery, lies). Protecting himself to avoid them in the future makes him feel that he is helping himself not to relive them. Therefore, humans work a little harder to forget negative thoughts.

Step 2: You should not completely stop considering negative thoughts

Repeating, “I need to stop thinking about this,” will only make you think about it more. Instead, when you're in a vicious cycle of negative thoughts, consider them without stressing out: "I'm worrying too much about my problems at work."

When you only think negatively about yourself, ask yourself what advice you would give to a friend. Follow this advice for yourself.

Step 3: Control your breathing

Studies are beginning to show that breathing exercises help reduce symptoms associated with anxiety , insomnia , post-traumatic stress , depression and even inattention problems. Breathing exercises increase vitality and concentration.

Step 4: Get moving!

When people are active and moving, it helps them to be happier. A little walk, even just 15 minutes can be enough to achieve happiness.

Step 5: Practice optimism!

Optimism is partly genetic and partly learnable. Optimism does not mean turning a blind eye when a situation is dire but seeing the bright side of every situation. Remember to surround yourself with optimistic people who will bring you good humor.
