1. Combination skin and imperfections?

Essential oils extracted from astringent plants have the benefits of purifying the skin , tightening pores and drying skin imperfections. They thus help to unify the complexion. They are recommended in particular for combination and imperfect skin . Tea tree essential oil is radical against pimples and enlarged pores! You can apply it directly to a pimple that appears to stop it in its tracks with a cotton swab or with your previously washed finger. But be careful to use it sparingly since it can dry and burn the skin if used in excess.

Here is a recipe for blemished skin:

In a 30 ml tinted glass bottle, mix:

  • 15 drops of Geranium Bourbon essential oil
  • 5 drops of Petitgrain bigarade essential oil

In all cases, for sensitive skin , it is better to favor soothing floral waters which will have gentler properties than essential oils applied to the skin (lavender, chamomile, rosehip, etc.).

3. Mature skin?

Firming essential oils are anti-aging oils . Thanks to their tensing active ingredients, they fill in furrows and redensify the skin 's epidermis. Mature skin will be enhanced by rose essential oils : rosewood or Damascus rose. They will act against the signs of the times. Italian helicrysum essential oil is also excellent for limiting the appearance of wrinkles.

How to use your essential oil correctly?

For most essential oils , you will need to apply them in the form of a homemade serum, which you will create by mixing one or two drops of the essential oil of your choice with a generous amount of your care oil (jojoba, sweet almond, apricot). etc). We dilute the essential oil, remembering that 1 ml of Essential Oil = 20 to 40 drops on average (even if this can vary).

However, certain essential oils are not recommended on the skin : all oils obtained from citrus zest. Irritating and oxidizing, they can be photosensitizing (risk of stains and burns in case of exposure to the sun): essential oil of lemon tree, sweet orange tree, grapefruit tree, bergamot tree... Do not hesitate to inquire about the different essential oils which can irritate the skin or even be toxic with direct application to the skin .

In addition, it is important to check if you are allergic to the chosen essential oil before applying it completely. To do this, apply 1 drop (only 1) of essential oil (diluted in vegetable oil) to the elbow crease and wait 24 hours. If no reaction, irritation or redness appears after this time, you are not allergic to this essential oil .

You will note that it is interesting to combine the effects of your usual facial treatment with those of essential oils . The possibilities are endless: hazelnut oil, Damascus rose essential oil if you have combination skin and want to reduce the signs of aging; Mirabelle plum oil and lavender essential oil if you have dehydrated skin

You choose !

Warning! Essential oils are very concentrated and should not be applied to your skin if you are allergic, pregnant or breastfeeding. Reserved for adults.
