BIEN-ETE Hair loss: shampoo, biotin, or a complete treatment - what should you really choose?

You are losing more hair than usual — in the shower, on your pillow, in your brush — and you don't know where to start. Anti-hair-loss shampoo, hair oil, biotin from the pharmacy, or a complete treatment course? The market is overflowing with promises. But not all of them are equal, and many act too superficially to provide a real solution. Here is an objective comparison to help you make the right choice.

Why hair falls out — and why it is more complex than it seems

Normally, we lose between 50 and 100 hairs a day. This number increases during periods of stress, intense fatigue, after childbirth, in autumn (seasonal shedding), or in cases of nutritional deficiencies. The reason: the hair cycle has three phases — the anagen phase (growth, 2 to 6 years), the catagen phase (transition, 2 to 3 weeks), and the telogen phase (shedding, 2 to 3 months). When this cycle is disrupted, the telogen phase lengthens and the anagen phase shortens: hair falls out faster than it grows back.

The root of the problem is often nutritional: a lack of zinc, biotin, B vitamins, iron, or amino acids (the building blocks of keratin). No product applied externally can compensate for these internal deficiencies.

Anti-hair-loss shampoos: useful, but insufficient

Anti-hair-loss shampoos have their place in a hair-care routine. They cleanse the scalp, remove excess sebum that can clog the follicles, and locally deliver active ingredients such as caffeine or zinc pyrithione. Some formulas also stimulate local microcirculation.

But contact with the scalp rarely lasts more than 2 to 3 minutes before the shampoo is rinsed out. This is not long enough for active ingredients to penetrate effectively to the dermal papillae, where the life or death of the hair follicle is determined. The result: action limited to the surface, with no impact on the deeper biological mechanisms behind hair loss.

Biotin alone: necessary but not sufficient

Biotin (vitamin B8) is one of the most widely sold active ingredients for hair in pharmacies. It does indeed contribute to the maintenance of normal hair and plays a role in the synthesis of keratin — the structural protein in hair. But biotin alone is not enough for three reasons.

First, a genuine biotin deficiency is rare among the general population with a balanced diet. Second, even in cases of deficiency, biotin acts on only one of the many factors involved in hair loss — it does not slow the deterioration of the hair cycle linked to oxidative stress or inflammation. Third, studies show that other B vitamins (B5, B6, B9, B12) are just as essential for the synthesis of the amino acids that make up keratin.

Hair oils and serums: the case of active ingredients that remain on the surface

Oils (castor, argan, coconut) and hair serums nourish the hair fiber, reduce frizz, and add shine. They are excellent for the appearance and texture of existing hair. However, their effect on growth and hair loss is very limited: they do not reach the follicle in depth, let alone the dermal papilla where new hair is produced.

A complete nutritional treatment: addressing the source

A well-formulated internal treatment works where topical products cannot: in the bloodstream, reaching the hair follicles and directly nourishing the dermal papillae. This is the approach you choose when you want a deep, long-lasting solution.

Epycure's Hair & Nails Treatment is based on an exceptionally well-documented patented active ingredient: AnaGain™ Nu, a pea sprout extract (Pisum sativum) grown in Switzerland on a family farm using a rigorous germination process. This active ingredient works on two levels:

  • It stimulates the FGF7 and Noggin genes, two biological signals that restart the growth phase (anagen)
  • It shortens the shedding phase (telogen), mechanically reducing daily hair loss

The results of a clinical study conducted on 21 volunteers over 2 months are compelling: -33% fewer hairs lost as early as the first month, up to -50% after two months.

AnaGain™ Nu is supported by a synergistic complex of vitamins and minerals: biotin (B8) and zinc, which contribute to the maintenance of normal hair, vitamins B5, B6, B9 and B12 for the synthesis of the amino acids that make up keratin, spirulina and vitamin C for antioxidant protection. The formula consists of 93.5% ingredients of natural origin.

What real testers say

Lab'Epycure tested the Hair & Nails Treatment on 10 testers for 3 months. The results are remarkable:

  • 100% felt they lost less hair per day
  • 90% found their hair less prone to breakage, denser, and fuller
  • 80% found their hair shinier
  • 70% noticed that their hair grew faster
  • 100% would recommend the treatment to someone close to them

How quickly will you see results?

The hair cycle is long — around 3 months. Patience is therefore essential, but effects can be seen much sooner:

  • From the first few weeks: visible reduction in hair loss (less hair in the shower), improved hair beauty and shine
  • Day 30: -33% fewer hairs lost per day (AnaGain™ data)
  • Day 60: -50% fewer hairs lost per day, renewed growth
  • 3 months: significant effect on growth, visible thickening

The dosage is simple: 2 capsules per day with a large glass of water, in the morning or afternoon. Recommended treatment duration: at least 3 months to support a complete hair cycle. Not recommended for children under 12.
