BIEN-ETE Slow metabolism: how to understand it and naturally boost it

You watch what you eat, exercise regularly, and yet your weight has plateaued and stubborn fat remains, especially around your waist and hips. It’s not inevitable, nor is it a question of willpower. Often, it’s your metabolism slowing down - and it’s entirely possible to give it a boost.

Understanding metabolism and why it slows down

Metabolism is the rate at which your body converts food into energy. A fast metabolism burns calories efficiently. A slow metabolism tends to store them as fat.

Several factors can slow down metabolism: aging (we lose around 1 to 2% of muscle mass per decade after age 30, and muscle burns more calories than fat); hormonal imbalances such as PCOS or perimenopause; chronically high cortisol levels (stress!); overly severe calorie restriction, which triggers metabolic adaptation; or a deficiency in certain key nutrients such as chromium or choline.

Natural ways to restart your metabolism

The first lever is the composition of your plate. Increase your protein intake (which has a high thermogenic effect - your body uses more energy to digest it), reduce fast sugars that cause insulin spikes, and never skip meals to avoid slowing down your metabolism. Strength training is also essential: every additional kilogram of muscle increases your energy expenditure at rest. Finally, good sleep regulates hunger and metabolism hormones (ghrelin, leptin).

Choosing the right metabolism supplements

Certain natural ingredients have been specifically studied for their effects on fat metabolism. To be effective, a supplement should contain a patented active ingredient clinically validated for fat reduction (not simply weight loss), at the same dosage used in studies, and a synergistic formula combining several mechanisms of action: fat burning, blood sugar regulation, and liver support.

The Epycure solution: Boost métabolisme

Epycure’s Boost métabolisme was formulated around Morosil® (400 mg), an extract of Moro blood orange juice from Sicily. Rich in anthocyanins and flavonoids, this patented active ingredient helps release stored fat by acting on the genes responsible for adipogenesis (fat formation).

A 12-week double-blind clinical study of 60 volunteers (BMI 25–35), at a dosage of 400 mg/day - the same dosage used in our formula - showed significant results: −7 cm in waist circumference, −6 cm in hip circumference, −3 kg, with initial results from 4 weeks.

Epycure was the first laboratory in France to include Morosil® in a food supplement, starting in 2021.

The formula also combines kola nut, which helps burn fat and contributes to weight control; choline, which contributes to lipid metabolism and the maintenance of normal liver function; and chromium, which contributes to maintaining normal blood sugar levels, limiting the storage of excess sugar as fat.

Lab'Epycure results (20 testers, 3 months): up to −6.5 cm in waist circumference, −7 cm in hip circumference, −7 kg. Timeline: reduced sugar cravings from Day 15, decreased fat storage from Day 30, weight and centimeter loss by Day 90.

Chewable tablet format (blueberry or peach flavors), 1 per day before 3 p.m. Made in France, B Corp certified, vegan, gluten-free. For even more comprehensive support for weight loss, the Pack Minceur combines Cure perte de poids, Boost métabolisme, and Poudre drainante for synergy on three levels: releasing stored fat, burning fat, and drainage, from €68/month.
