We selected this amaranth extract because it was clinically studied on 37 volunteers (aged between 31 and 68 years) with glucose intolerance (baseline blood glucose between 100 and 126 mg/dl) and a BMI between 25 and 34.9, but not receiving treatment to regulate their blood sugar. The volunteers took 1 tablet containing 500 mg of AmaChol®, at lunchtime. The results after 3 months of testing were as follows:
